The Real Fashion Tragedy is Not Knowing How to Dress Yourself

I don't mean if you know that your arms go through the two side holes in the shirt, I mean knowing how to dress for your body shape. If anyone learns anything about fashion, it should be this: know what your body looks like, and choose things that accentuate the good about it. Do you like your boobs? Wear clothes that highlight (not in an immodest way) your cleavage. Your legs? Adorable tights and short skirts might point them up. The color of your eyes? Wear a dress the same color to make them pop.
Or dress for your personality. Are you a bright, fun person? Wear bright colors. Detail-oriented queen? Accessorize the heck out of your outfit. Honestly, I don't have all the answers on what best to wear to highlight all the areas of bodies and personalities, but I urge you to figure out what works best for you.
I remember when Katharine McPhee was on American Idol (gosh, I hated her on that show, although I like her now). She is a beautiful lady with a great body, but no one ever knew it because she always wore these shapeless baggy tops (in her defense, they were in at the time). There were even rumors that had to be addressed on air that she was pregnant! It was a travesty that even with stylists' help, she didn't come out every week looking smokin'.
You can't change a lot about your body's composition (yes, you can gain/lose weight, but your basic tendencies will remain. Pear-shaped? You will be if you're thin or heavy. It's life, mi chica), so you might as well learn to love it and dress it well.

This has been Ever's Public Service Announcement of the day. You're welcome.
